Our appointment service is free, but we want to reduce no-shows. Ideally, we would like to work like restaurants do: the customer enters their credit card when booking, but they are not charged upfront. We would only charge a fixed no-show fee if the customer does not attend the appointment and did not cancel within our cancellation policy window.
Could you confirm if Appointo supports this type of setup?
Specifically:
Can Appointo hold a customer’s credit card without charging them immediately? Can we manually charge a no-show fee only if the customer misses the appointment? If Appointo alone does not support this, can it be done with your Depo app? If Depo is required, can Depo hold the card without any upfront payment? What is the recommended setup for a free appointment with a no-show fee policy?
We want to make sure this is handled securely and through Shopify/Appointo/Depo, not by collecting card information manually in a custom field.
